As you may be aware of, the International Association of Cape Horn Captains - A.I.C.H. – ended its corporate activities on 15 May 2003. However, some Sections of the former AMICALE decided to continue their activities independently, as in the case of the Aland Islands, Australia, Chile, Finland, Great Britain, Holland, Norway and New Zealand.

This letter is to inform you that the Chilean Brotherhood has recently modified its articles of association with the aim of including new members interested in maintaining and keeping with the old sailing traditions, disseminating the country’s maritime history, and promoting Chile’s sovereignty throughout the Cape Horn region and surrounding archipelagos.

Regarding the latter, we are glad to invite foreigners – men and women – who have crossed the Cape Horn meridian under the COMMAND of any type of vessel or craft, (including yachts), to become part of our Corporation as Active members. Those who would like to be part of the Brotherhood, although they have never sailed the Southern area of Chile, are welcome to join us as Collaborating members. Members will be able to use our insignias, participate in our monthly meals, trips and other activities, and will receive periodical letters and circulars. To become a member of our Brotherhood, the following fees must be paid:

1. Active Members:
   1. Affiliation Fee US$ 120 (to be paid once).
   2. No annual fee required.
2. Collaborating Members:
   1. Affiliation Fee US$ 150 (to be paid once).
   2. No annual fee required.
